The great Barry Bonds just hit his 715th career home run surpassing Babe Ruth and taking over second place on the all time list. Congratulations Barry!! I know that many of you out there are thinking Hamertek...The Great...have you finally gone off the deep end? I mean you are Yankee fan number one and this cheating SOB just beat the Babe.
Well my loyal friends that is where you are wrong. Barry Bonds is not a cheater. I know it is hard to believe this but the facts are as clear as day. Baseball had NO STEROID POLICY. That means that while Barry might have broken a whole series of US laws, and lied to countless reporters (who are merely vampires anyway) as far as baseball is concerend he did nothing wrong. Baseball only governs baseball and when you break baseball rules they punish you. That is why Pete Rose sits at a table across the street from the Hall Of Fame and signs autographs. He broke baseballs rules and was punished by baseball for what he did. Now if the US government wants to go after Barry Bonds for taking illegall drugs then i say go for it, but as far as baseball is concerned Barry is untouchable.
All this talk about wether he should have an asterik next to his name is ridiculous. If you are going to let him play then you can not later on say he did something wrong. There is no new evidence that will come out, the fans know he juiced, baseball knows he juiced, shit i even think Barry now knows, but he did it while it was legal in baseball. So i say hurray for Barry...keep hitting those long balls, and i will keep cheering for you.

You are wrong...Steroid use is not and never was legal in Basball. Baseball may have looked the other way, and its stats will forever pay the price, but don't confuse that with taking steroids as "legal". Substance abuse in all its forms is outlawed in Baseball, just because these drugs have a good effect does not mean there are not drugs, Illegal by our country and Illegal in baseball. Saying there is no proof is accurate but, HELLO!!! What do u think Balco was doing? They specialized in making Undetectable enhancers. But ok, lets say that reguardless of the LAW, you wanna make the argument that what he was doing was Legal in baseball, therefor his stats and place in the Hall is secure. Well not so fast! In 1919, 8 men were suspected of throwing the world series. The 8 playes including legendary "Shoeless" Joe Jackson, were brought up on charges and tried in court. The players were all found Not Guilty for a lack of evidence. They were given a life-time ban from the Game a full season after the court ruling. that's right, check your history...those "Black Sox" played in 1920, a year AFTER the series. They made the rule about gambling AFTER the players were found Not guilty, and the rule says " it does not matter if you gambled or not, but to even talk to a bookie is enough to be banned for. My point, is that those great players are not in the hall of fame and even worse, some of them saw the game taken away during their primes. These 8 players did not break any rule baseball had at the time, or for that matter any Law our country had. But, they were kicked out anyway, and it had to be done, because the integrity of the Game was at stake. The same must be done here. Because the same is at stake.

I am not saying that what Barry has done was good for baseball, but up until last season steroids was not a drug that was on the banned substance list. So he did nothing wrong.
As for the Black Sox, that was a knee jerk reaction to what baseball sensed was a potentially damning situation. Perhaps you can find an example that has occured in the last 80 years, i would tend to believe that the game has gone through a change or two since then. So modernize, accept Barry for what he is (flaws and all) and increase the peace.

Kick him out!!!!! My point is the black sox did not break any rules when they did what they did, same as Barry. And there needs to be a knee jerk reaction here. I am glad i cannot find another example in the past 80 years, that's what makes the game great. If you agree that Barry has hurt baseball, then i am not sure what your point is? My point is simply that the Game of baseball is more important then any Player....and if that player is hurting the game then something must be changed. And I am not talking just about Barry Bonds, ANY player found to be using or found to have used steroids in the past, should be kicked out. And as a die hard Yankee fan, i would hand them Jeter's head, if he was one of those playes...NOBODY is Bigger then the Game.
